Jollibee introduces its first augmented reality mobile app called JolliDance Showdown + Jolly Collectibles to enjoy

The country’s number one fast food chain, Jollibee recently launched its first-ever augmented reality mobile application called JolliDance Showdown. The said app was developed by renowned Los Angeles-based mobile innovation agency, Trigger. They were the same company which created and produced some of the best applications from clients such as Sony Pictures, Lionsgate Entertainment, and Lucas Film.

This app will surely be a hit considering that Jollibee is well-loved by many. I actually don’t know anyone or any kid for that matter who do not know Jollibee. For most Filipino kids, Jollibee is not only one of the most trusted brands, but also a huge part of our culture. I myself grew up looking forward to family bonding on Sundays because it’s the time when we’d all go to Jollibee.

For this particular game app, kids can dance with their favorite Jollibee mascot or Jollibee himself while having their own avatar. Nothing beats seeing yourself onscreen plus the fun you get while playing it.

Get your child into sports: Join the Milo Summer Sports Clinics 2016!

I could vividly recall how I used to mimic former champion gymnast turned Taekwondo jin and Olympian Bea Lucero as she made her stunts on a balancing beam as a young child in that popular Milo commercial during the early '80s. I'm a proud Milo Summer Clinic graduate myself. There was a time in my life when I dreamed of becoming an athlete.  I dabbled into sports such as swimming, ice skating and I also took up karatedo by AAK (Association for Advancement of Karatedo) under the Milo Summer Sports Clinic Program. I used to get some LSS from that TV ad jingle, "Great things starts from small beginnings...growing up, reach early for your dreams...face the day, there's a new challenge...a chance to be better, a chance to become your dream. Growing up with Olympic energy, growing up with Milo, Milo everyday."  Well, so much for reminiscing.

Kids Train to be Everyday Heroes with Cartoon Network’s Ben 10 Hero Academy

Cartoon Network, the leading kids' channel in the Philippines, through its initiative--Ben 10 Hero Academy teaches kids what they must do in certain dangerous situations. The said Ben 10-inspired activity based crash-course was filled with easy-to-learn tips where kids can learn to act wisely in different situations. The said program makes its way to Metro Manila schools from July to August 2014.

“The Ben 10 Hero Academy takes after the spirit of the hugely popular Ben 10: Omniverse series,” said Nicole Schneiderjohn, Marketing Director, Turner International Asia-Pacific, operator of Cartoon Network Asia. “In using characters like Ben Tennyson, Bloxx and Rook to communicate valuable lessons on safety, we’re able to empower kids in their daily lives through fun and adventure.”
With the Ben 10 Academy host and facilitator

Purple Plum Fairy recently joined Cartoon Network when they held their Ben 10 Academy program at St. Mary's Academy in Pasay, City. Through games and other dynamic activities, students aged 6 to 10 were trained in four modules:

Kids had loads of fun as they participated in various games and activities. The said event was also graced by Ronald McDonald and Zesto mascot to the delight of the kids. Best of all, they've also had that opportunity to get face time with their favorite Ben 10 characters, Bloxx and Ben Tennyson himself. In fact, during the Ben 10 Hero Academy event at St. Mary's, even the teachers couldn't resist having a photo opportunity with the cute Bloxx.

Faculty members from St. Mary's Academy couldn't get enough of Bloxx.

Well, I'm also guilty of such as your Purple Plum Fairy also had a photo with him. I also had a lot of fun seeing the kids with such happiness on their faces--the kind of genuine joy that money could not buy. Oh, how I wish we've also had that same fun crash course training like Ben 10 Academy during my time in grade school.

Purple Plum Fairy had this photo opp with Bloxx as well.

Ronald McDonald wowed the kids as he taught them emergency signals.
Zesto drink mascot says hi to his young audience.
Ben Tennyson flashes his famous Omnitrix.

It was also fun to see other celebrity moms bonding with their kids at the said Jollibee event like TV host Christine Jacob-Sandejas, Sports anchor Patricia Hizon together with husband former PBA basketball star player Vince Hizon and family, and actress Danica Sotto-Pingris with her daughter. Nickelodeon Takotown: Celebrating Halloween Pinoy Style

For loyal Nicksters like us, Nickelodeon's Halloween event was an event we dare not miss. Every year, we look forward to Halloween, not just for trick or treat activities that's sure to satisfy one's sweet tooth cravings, but more so for the Nickelodeon event. It may seem like a family tradition, but it is indeed something that we always look forward to. This year was no different.  Nickelodeon's TakoTown was recently held at the Halls 1 and 2 of the SMX Convention Center, SM Mall of Asia.

An afternoon of awesome games, prizes and surprises for all the Nicksters who came, Nickelodeon's Takotown was a family oriented event. Mommies, Daddies, Grandmas and Nannies--practically the entire family all came in full support for their the kids. I even spotted some adults wearing costumes themselves. It's so nice to see them all together spending quality time and bonding with their families.

Candies, toys, freebies and tons of goodies were given away for kids to enjoy. Mascot appearances plus the chance for photo opps were provided by Nickelodeon partner sponsors; Lotte Koala's March, Kinderino from Kinderjoy, Grimace from McDonalds and Appebon Kid from Appebon. Of course, Nickelodeon's event will never be complete without the presence of our beloved fave Spongebob also came with his friends Dora the Explorer, Patrick Star and the appearance of Leonardo and Donatello of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

The program kicked off with a stunning dance production number from Planet Zips. The event were hosted by Robi and Lesley, both wearing cute halloween costumes too. Nickelodeon also held game booths for everyone to enjoy as well as on stage games for a chance to win awesome prizes. They also awarded the best in costumes for spookiest, hero character and most creative. One of the winners even had The Candy Crush outfit while the other had The Ghost Rider outfit.

There was also the well-applauded intermission number of Drac Cigam, an illusionist who made the audiences in awe with his magic and illusions. I had seen the oohs and aaahs of the audience as Drac Cigam made his acts on stage. Hmmm...To be honest as of this writing, I still wonder how he was able to pull off such acts though. But it made the crowd glued on to their seats.

The event ended with a closing number by Planet Zips followed by a confetti blizzard to the kids delight. In a nutshell, Nickelodeon's Takotown was indeed another fun-filled activity for the whole family. It was one memorable afternoon, celebrating halloween pinoy style.
