Filipino beauty brand Sugar Dolls Inc. PH, in partnership with the Shunammite Ministry Group and JHOW Christian Church, organized a gift-giving drive for more than 300 children from underprivileged communities in San Mateo, Rizal. Guided by the brand’s philosophy of using beauty as a powerful way to give back, the initiative aims the make the kids feel seen, valued, and celebrated during the holiday season.

Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition alumna Ashley Ortega also took part in the gift-giving activity despite her busy schedule. She was joined by fellow celebrities and online influencers Ralph  Mendiola, and RJ Perkins, who spent time with the children and distributed gifts.

The afternoon program opened with live performances and a clown show that hyped the basketball court with laughter and anticipation. During the gift distribution, smiles spread across every child’s face as more than 760 loot bags and gifts were handed out, along with 300 packed meals.

The event was led by Ms. Chardy Baldoza a.k.a. Cha Canicosa, the event organizer and Marketing Director, in collaboration with Sugar Dolls Inc. PH. The initiative was made possible through the support of the Core Management Team, Ana Lusong, Hazelyn Perez, Carlo Villanueva, Pastor Vhern, and Ms. LA Marquez, whose collective efforts guaranteed the program’s success.

As expected, the charity drive reflected Sugar Dolls’ vision of using beauty as a force for good. By spreading love, joy, and care, especially to children, the brand is committed to strengthen its community ties and inspire kindness beyond the holiday season. As the celebration concluded, what remained was a shared sense of compassion and connection: a reminder that the most beautiful impact is created when a brand chooses to give back.

Hotel Sogo Celebrates Silver Anniversary

I was recently invited to Hotel Sogo’s Media Thanksgiving and Appreciation Party held at the Eurotel Vivaldi Tower along EDSA in Cubao, Quezon City. It was my first time to come to the said building and I was amazed at how friendly and warmth the front desk officers were. I also liked the interiors of Eurotel which is also owned by the same company that owns and operates the Sogo Chain of Hotels.

Like any typical Pinoy, I’m very much familiar with the brightly red, white and yellow colored buildings of Hotel Sogo. They’ve become a significant part in the lives of most Filipinos who in one way or another must’ve have stayed and celebrated their special moments and occasions at Hotel Sogo.

Hotel Sogo began in 1992 and it was a concept between two entrepreneurs who wanted to adopt a Japanese themed hotel that speaks cleanliness and innovation, efficacy, courtesy, discipline and hard work.  Ever since, Hotel Sogo has committed to deliver excellent service in an affordable and budget-friendly hotel. It has been 25 years since Hotel Sogo first opened their door to the public. They have grown into the most popular affordable hostel in the country today.

With 40 branches nationwide and counting, Hotel Sogo targets to open more in the next couple of years, eyeing around 60 branches across the country. They have also leveled up in terms of services aside from their facilities. They have introduced free Wi-Fi connections, waiters on skateboards (for faster service), safety deposit boxes, hot & cold shower, Jacuzzi (for VIP rooms), ample parking and even affordable in-room massage service.

Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines celebrates three decades of helping communities

I support companies that does corporate social responsibility programs. It’s actually nice to see when companies are aligning their values with a cause so they can market their products while helping those in need. So upon the invitation of Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines, I had agreed right away to attend a simple press conference in celebration of Coca-Cola's 30 years of making a difference in various communities.

We had always enjoyed drinking its refreshing ice-cold Coke in bottles and cans but little do we know about their projects and programs in helping various communities as they rebuild their lives or improve their living conditions. In some parts of the nation where water is scarce, in communities where women are struggling to improve their household income, as well as in certain schools where malnutrition needs to be addressed, Coca-Cola Foundation Philippines Inc. are there to lend a hand.
