I've tried The Zen Institute' s other services before. I loved how they make my face glow in a term I'd like to refer to as "squeaky clean". I've been to other spa clinics but none of them could make my face as clean. So I was happy to received an invite to get to know more about The Zen Institute's Weight Management Program.
During the said event, while we were waiting for the other guests to arrive, I was able to try their foot reflexology treatment. Being overweight and obese myself, my feet are the most abused and overused part of my body because it had to carry my weight all the time. Oh, I felt wanton as the therapist kneaded and focused on my feet's reflex points. It felt so good yet achy at times because I had so many lactic acids on my feet. If only my feet would have a speaking voice, it would've probably thanked me. I vow to come back for more of these awesome foot reflexology + my fave basic facial here at The Zen Institute.
The therapist does a hard foot reflexology massage on my tired foot.
My friend from the media, Ms. Leony Garcia also enjoys the foot reflexology massage.

Now, let's get down to the real reason why I came here in the first place. The said invitation is for us to get to know more about their weight management program which can truly help people like me. But before I go on and on, for the benefit of those who are not yet familiar with Zen Institute, allow me to give you guys a rundown what it is all about.
The Zen Institute, the first and true medical spa in the country continues to introduce innovations on both products and services, within the concept of holistic wellness. Dr. Mary Jane "MJ" Torres of the Zen Institute understands the needs of people who aspires to be healthy but needs a few more encouragement and perfect mindset in order to achieve it. Obesity and weight gain among Filipinos are becoming a problem due to the number of fast food that we have today. It is the Zen Institute's goal through the help of technology and medicine to help you achieve your desired weight and maintain a healthy weight the safe and natural way.
The Zen Institute Weight Management Program, is a holistic approach that includes carefully monitored non-invasive treatments, supported by nutritional counselling, a workout regimen, colon cleansing and intravenous (IV) micronutrition. At the center of our program is you and what your body needs.
Colon Hydrotherapy aka Colonics is a procedure to help clean the colon apart from the non-surgical way of flushing out toxins from the body. The Zen Institute employs a process that is done with the use of a breakthrough hydrotherapy machine by licensed doctors. The said therapy lasts from 50 up to 60 minutes. Part of the program is the coffee cocktail to further help faster metabolism and improve better nutrient absorption needed by the body.
Ideally, Colonics should be done at least four times a year to facilitate the accumulation of the toxins in the body. However, it can also be done on a weekly basis specially by those who don't eat much vegetables, often drink alcohol and have unhealthy diet and lifestyle. Patients who have undergo e colonics must maintain a healthier diet to encourage growth of good bacterias in the body.
On the other hand, Intravenous (IV) Micronutrition is a procedure that delivers micronutrients straight to the veins, so there's no need to pass through gastrointestinal system and liver enzymes. The nutrients are directly absorbed by the body to use.
