UnionBank teams up with Noel Bazaar creator to help participating merchants digitize transactions

Just in time for the holiday shopping season, Union Bank of the Philippines (UnionBank) has partnered
with Cut Unlimited, Inc., the creator of the long-running Noel Bazaar, to promote cashless payments so
customers can have a better and more enjoyable Christmas shopping experience.

The partnership was made official through a signing ceremony last October 6 at the UnionBank Plaza in
Pasig City, and is in line with UnionBank's goal of helping the country's micro, small, and medium enterprise sector as part of the Bank's "Tech-UP Pilipinas" advocacy.

UnionBank will help make payments easier and more convenient for shoppers at the bazaar by making
its award-winning online banking features accessible to participating merchants. Through these,
customers can then pay for their purchases digitally, allowing seamless transactions between them.

"In the advent of digitalization, it is of keen importance for the Noel Bazaar team to support our
merchants in learning how to connect with their consumers through the ways of doing business in this
new digital-first ecosystem," said Cut Unlimited, Inc. President Mayose Gozon-Bautista.

Emirates SkyCargo and United Cargo announce landmark agreement

Emirates SkyCargo and United Cargo signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that follows on the heels of the new broader historic commercial agreement between two of the largest global airlines. This coordination will deliver benefits to air freight customers of both Emirates Skycargo and United Cargo around the world.

The MoU was signed at the World Cargo Symposium (WCS) – IATA event in London, UK by Nabil Sultan, Emirates Divisional Senior Vice President, Cargo and Jan Krems, President, United Cargo.

Under the terms of the MoU, Emirates SkyCargo and United Cargo will work closely on a number of aspects, which include expanding cargo interline options and blocked space agreements, pending regulatory approvals. 7-Eleven Chef Creations x Linamnam features Claude Tayag's Dishes

Claude Tayag for 7 Eleven's Linanam Creations

I've always been a fan of Claude Tayag, both as a chef-writer/columnist and also as a painter. So imagine my surprise when I learned that he has partnered with 7-Eleven, one of my favorite brands to create Linamnam dishes that are purely Filipino.

It is perfect for those times when you're on the go and don't have ample time to cook anymore. Starting at P95, choose from the 4-set line of single-serve, heat-to-eat packs: Batchoy, Palabok, Sinampalukang Manok, and Bicol Express.

Lalamove forges partnership with DTI to further MSME growth and empowerment

Third-party logistics solutions provider Lalamove announced its strengthened partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry Region 3 (DTI-3) for the upcoming Likha ng Central Luzon Trade Fair. The partnership sees Lalamove’s continued support of the government’s efforts to empower micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) under the One Town, One Product (OTOP) Philippines stimulus program.

This entails the provision of business logistics solutions to businesses across provinces within Central Luzon – namely Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Tarlac and Zambales – that are designed to drive growth, widen reach, and boost economic performance.

A collaboration to further Central Luzon’s growth

This collaboration between Lalamove and DTI is in line with the latter’s promotion of entrepreneurship across the Philippines, and its continued advocacy for local products and goods. Supported by the Regional Development Council-3 and the Central Luzon Growth Corridor Foundation, Inc., it furthers the Department’s mandate to drive inclusive economic growth across all regions, provinces, and cities in the country.

Likha ng Central Luzon Trade Fair, a major regional trade promotion activity jointly organized by DTI-3 and Philexport-3 aims to gather and champion the region’s entrepreneurs. The annual event will run its 24th edition on October 26-30, 2022 at the Mega Trade Hall, SM Megamall.

“By working together with logistics partner Lalamove, we hope to bridge the gap between Central Luzon communities, shine a light on the beauty of Filipino craftsmanship, creativity and ingenuity by opening the avenue for MSMEs to reach wider markets without compromising affordability and efficiency, and ultimately boost regional commerce across the country,”  DTI-3 Assistant Regional Director Brigida Pili commented.

Business solutions for MSME growth & empowerment

“As an advocate for MSME growth and empowerment, especially at the regional level, we hope to serve as a platform that enables connection among markets and communities in the Philippines, starting with Central Luzon. By working closely with the government to provide access to local entrepreneurs, we hope more businesses will feel more empowered and confident to grow their businesses further, and reach farther, with Lalamove,” expressed Dannah Majarocon, Lalamove Philippines Managing Director.

Through the on-demand delivery platform’s long-distance delivery and last-mile delivery solutions, the partnership hopes to push entrepreneurs to grow further with the app’s affordable rates (fixed price for the first 40 kms), reach farther with wider coverage across 31 serviceable areas in Luzon, and broaden their market through a wide-ranging fleet of vehicles fit for every delivery requirement.

Through these offerings and more, MSMEs can easily widen their scope for both B2B and B2C deliveries, effectively opening new opportunities for growth with Lalamove. This, tied with the Likha ng Central Luzon Trade Fair, and entrepreneurs across Central Luzon are given the perfect avenue to establish new partnerships, promotions and connections with neighbouring provinces and communities.

With the Lalamove app, MSMEs can book from Pampanga, Manila, Olongapo and Tarlac within Central Luzon, or across Luzon, for their business needs. They will immediately have access to features such as route optimization, trusted partner drivers, and multi-stop deliveries, to name a few, plus a fleet of motorcycles, sedans, 4-wheel, 6-wheel, and even 10-wheel trucks to tap. As corporate clients, MSMEs can unlock further tools to enrich their ventures, including optimal support from the Lalamove team for growing businesses

The Medical City shows what it means to be a partner in health and in sickness

What makes an ideal life partner? Some say that a partner should be kind and caring, helping you through tough times while celebrating the high moments with you. Others say that a lasting partnership is built on a foundation of open communication, trust, and respect. With a reliable partner by one’s side, one can truly live life to the fullest and face any challenge with the assurance that someone will be there to take care of them.

The Medical City (TMC), the largest healthcare network in the Philippines, recently launched a campaign honoring these ideal partners which symbolize its brand philosophy “Where Patients are Partners”. This means that in TMC, the patient is viewed not merely as a problem to be solved, but as a partner in his or her own health.

In a heartwarming, relatable video series, modern-day couples describe what they see in a perfect partner, which reflects what TMC strives to be for its patients. Watch the pilot episode here:https://www.facebook.com/TheMedicalCity/videos/569971268232145/?extid=NS-UNK-UNK-UNK-IOS_GK0T-GK1C-GK2T

“This campaign aims to show that The Medical City is committed to being its patients’ partner in health and in sickness through two-way, world-class healthcare and wellness services,” said Dr. Christian G. Delos Reyes, Chief Marketing Officer. “Patient partnership is acknowledging the patient’s fundamental accountability for his own health and then supporting this with systems, tools, and venues for education, open communication, and informed choice. This fresh perspective on the patient’s role in healthcare represents a radical departure from the traditional idea of the patient as a passive recipient of medical services.”
