16th anniversary Dance for Health: A Healthy Way to Live

It was indeed a red-letter day for Healthway loyal patrons, mall-goers and health buffs. Healthy Medical Clinic is a pioneer in onsite clinic services and wellness programs accessible for Filipinos. Strategically located in different malls around the metro, Healthway safeguards everyone through their different programs made convenient for everyone. In line with Healthway's 16th year anniversary, they've mounted an exciting day filled with different health-related booths, activities and an afternoon filled with adrenaline rush as dancing aficionados all trooped to Glorietta Activity Center last November 18, 2013 for a back-breaking dance showdown featuring dance troupes from different colleges and young professionals. The said event was for the benefit of Kythe Foundation (an NGO that helps youngsters with their battle against cancer) and Centex (a project of the Ayala Foundation).

The event started with a ribbon cutting ceremony led by Dr. Eleanor Tan, President of Healthway Medical Clinic together with other Healthway executives. The dance showdown was hosted by well-known PR lady Ms. Rikka Dylim. The participants of the dancing competition were divided into two categories namely: College/University Division and Young Professional. The participants originally started from ten groups, then cut down to six, until they found the three finalists. The panel of judges were composed of professional dancers and choreographers Maricar Escoliar, Elijah Caguioa and Vanessa Samson. The three judges even showcased some of their "sample moves" to the delight of the crowd in response to the audience's request.

The three universities that made it to the Healthway Dance Finals were FMD Extreme of St. John Bosco Institute of Arts and Sciences, STI College represented by Balaraw Dance Troupe and Red Fox dancers from Eulogio Amang Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST). For the young professionals division, there were Aegis Global Black Panthers, Intellicare Intellimovers, Landbank of the Philippines' All Stars, and Maynilad Water Services Dancers.

The battle was a tough one because everyone deserves to win. But of course, just like in any competitions, there can only be one winner in each categories.  Here are the list of winners and their respective rankings:

3rd placer Landbank All Stars
2nd place Aegis Black Panthers
Grand winner Maynilad Water Services

School categories/universities/college division

3rd placer, STI Balaraw Dance Troupe received P10,000 plus a trophy.
2nd placer St. John Bosco Institute of Arts and Sciences received P20,000 and a plaque of recognition
1st place went to Red Fox from EARIST and brought home P35,000 and a plaque of recognition

During the event, the kids from Centex Foundation also presented a ballet dance production number as well as a modern dance number from the kids of Kythe Foundation. Dr. Eleanor Tan, Healthway President also presented the P50,000 cheque to Ms. Gerlie Lorenzo on behalf of  Kythe Foundation and another P50,000 to Ms. Maricar Fernando for the Centex Foundation.
