Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc. celebrates 10th Year Anniversary with Chinese Calligraphy and Art Painting Exhibit

Federation of Filipino Chinese Alumni Association Inc.

The history of Chinese painting can be compared to a symphony. The styles and traditions in figure, landscape, and bird-and-flower painting have formed themes that continue to blend to this day into a single piece of music. Painters through the ages have made up this “orchestra,” composing and performing many movements and variations within this tradition.

A few days before the Chinese New Year, the Filipino-Chinese Community who call themselves as the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Alumni Association Inc. together with several group of artists, students and young professionals joined hands to organize an art exhibit featuring the rich culture and tradition of the Fil-Chinese.

In celebration of the Chinese New Year as well as the 10th year anniversary of the Fil-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc., the said special occasion has "Spring Festival Culture and Art Exhibition" as its theme. It was held at the ground floor of the Muelle de Binondo office of the said organization.

Federation of Chinese-Filipino Chamber of Commerce and Industry officers, invited guests graced the said exhibit. The said Chinese art and calligraphy exhibit was made possible through the efforts of the organization headed by Mr. Reynaldo Ong de Jesus.

The said exhibit focused on observing nature combined with “poetic sentiment” to reinforce the expression of both subject and artist. The focus on poetic sentiment led to the combination of painting, poetry, and calligraphy.  Early Chinese Scholars thought that painting as an art had to go beyond just the “appearance of forms” in order to express the ideas and cultivation of the artist.

Check out the awesome and inspiring Chinese paintings and calligraphy. The said exhibit was made open to the public and the exhibit lasted for an entire week.
