Shangri-La Mall Welcomes the Chinese New Year with Activities


新年快乐  Xīnnián kuàilè to all our Chinese friends and to the Filipino-Chinese communities! You just know it's Chinese New Year when you see red lanterns, money trees and other Chinese-inspired decors adorning the malls. Our favorite shopping and dining destination, Shangri-La Plaza Mall kicks off their Chinese New Year celebration via different events and activities.

In line with the coming of the Year of the Wooden Sheep in partnership with Ateneo Confucius Institute and International Studies for Chinese Arts and Ateneo De Manila University Ricardo Leong Center for Chinese Studies. There's the annual Spring Film Festival which is now on its 9th year and will be running from February 13 to 22 at the Shang Cineplex. It's open to the public and free admission. But seats and tickets are on a first come, first served basis. To avail of the tickets, please make sure you are at the line at least 30 minutes before the screening time.

There's also an ongoing chinese art exhibit at the Main Atrium of the main wing of the Shangri-La mall. Chinese art and calligraphy enthusiasts also get the chance to participate in the free Chinese Painting Workshop, Chinese Crafts and Chinese Calligraphy organized by the Ateneo Confucius Institute and International Studies. This is also open to the public, free admission, but on a first come, first served basis.
