Dolphy Clean Up GameApplication: Quizon Family's Way of Remembering the late Comedy King

If you're a fan of the late King of Comedy--Dolphy, you've probably been thrilled to see him if you were able to earn enough points in the Streetfood Tycoon game app---it was the first time that Dolphy made his appearance in the said game application made by a Filipino. This time, you'd be happy to know that Dolphy is now an iconic environmental hero for a new game application which his own family, the Quizons helped conceptualized the said game app called "Dolphy Clean Up".

Created and developed by the Quizon family in partnership with iGen Technologies, a software product development and consulting services company based in the US, Dolphy Clean Up game app was conceived rather by serendipity. "We actually had no plans on making a game app. But we got the idea from Epy's daughter who loves to play with her ipad. We thought of developing a game "in memory of our Dad Dolphy". Then, we were lucky to have been there at the right place and time--we met people from iGen Technologies, and that's how the collaboration started," explains actor/director Eric Quizon during the recent launch of Dolphy Clean Up. "Dolphy Clean Up will educate people especially children on the importance of trash segregation and proper disposal," adds Eric.

Selected bloggers were able to try out the Dolphy Clean Up game on ipad. And Purple Plum Fairy could attest that it is both entertaining and educational as well. It's really a fun app and so easy to use. Game enthusiasts will be covering a total of four stages, City Cleaner, Forest Protector, Ocean Hero and Air Guardian--it has 36 levels of positive environmental adventure.

Dolphy Clean Up will be initially available in the App Store for iPads, and very soon for iPhones as well. It is expected to be purchasable in Google Play for Android mobile devices as early as January 2014.

The Quizons gave life to the concept through Dolphy Aid Para Sa Pinoy Foundation, Inc. which channels the late actor's advocacies, particularly his concern for the environment and the protection of Mother Earth. The same foundation was also behind the success of Dolphy Alay Tawa, a fund-raising tribute concert held a few months after the passing of the Comedy King and was attended by showbiz personalities.

"A certain percentage of the download proceeds will be directed to efforts being made to rehabilitate and reconstruct communities in the Visayan region particularly those affected by the devastation brought by Super Typhoon Yolanda last month," says Epy Quizon.

Game aficionados can start downloading Dolphy Clean Up starting this December 15 from the App Store packaged at $3.99 for the entire game.

Metro Manila Film Festival 2013 Entry: My Little Bossings is Vic Sotto's Best Movie to Date

Move over Enteng Kabisote. For a change, Vic Sotto says he's putting Enteng Kabisote series a rest for this year. But that does not mean he won't have an entry to this year's edition of the Metro Manila Film Festival. Hence, My Little Bossings was made in lieu of the said box-office magical saga.

"I'm very proud of this film," shares Vic Sotto during the My Little Bossings Bloggers' Night held recently at Annabel's Restaurant in Tomas Morato. "It may not have the special effects and digital animation that Enteng Kabisote had, but I'd like to believe it is my best film so far," says Vic.

"The roles they had in My Little Bossings were taylor-made for them. Even before the cameras started rolling, I had envisioned how each character would react and execute every scene in the story," award-winning scriptwriter Bibeth Orteza says on how she wrote the script for My Little Bossings.

On how they came up with the Queen of All Media, Kris Aquino's son Bimby, Vic says, "We've always been interested to get Kris' son Bimby. In fact, last year, we wanted him to have a special appearance on Enteng. But when I've brought up the idea to Kris--she begged off. She said if she'll ever allow Bimby to act, it should be something that's all worth it--he's got to star on it and not simply be a special guest."

As for the rest of the cast, Vic says he enjoyed working with Little Miss Philippines 2013 and new child wonder, Ryzza Mae Dizon. He also included former Little Miss Philippines alumna and former child star-turned-musician Aiza Seguerra in the film. "Having worked with Aiza for almost a decade on national TV for "Okay Ka, Fairy Ko"(where the character Enteng Kabisote stemmed from) and two years for movies, I knew that a balance of work + play is necessary when working with kids," shares Vic.

Fresh from winning the Golden Kid 2013 award, Ryzza Mae Dizon who looked like a morena Chinese doll in her pink ruffled gown during the said bloggers' conference says she's also happy to be given another chance to work with Bossing Vic in a movie. My Little Bossings is Ryzza's second Metro Manila Film Fest movie. According to her, working with Bimby is such a breeze. "He's good-looking and he gives me chocolates," says Ryzza in vernacular.

Vic says that working with talented kids makes work a lot easier. Bimby may be a showbiz newbie but Vic says the kid has charm and talent on his own. "The role calls for aloofness between me and Bimby, but eventually we became really close. It's rough play with Bimby and Ryzza's talkative nature thrills me all the time," adds Vic,

Kris Aquino does play an equally important role in My Little Bossings. But hers is some sort of bookends or can be considered a special cameo role. Billing wise, Kris said since the story revolves around the three of us, (Bimby, Vic and Ryzza)-- Kris opted out of the poster billing.

Vic says he's too excited about this film, "Kung pwede nga, December 25 na para opening day na! (If it's possible, I'd like today to be December 25 so that it's our opening day at the movies) I wanted the masses to see this film right away. No special effects. The film is fu  and entertaining that caters to all ages, across all borders--I guarantee they'll all be having a great time," enthuses Vic.

What inspires Vic to come up with an MMFF entry each year? Makabata awardee Vic Sotto answers: "I am aware that kids would look up to me so I am very careful to be put on spotlight. I am aware of my responsibilities to my viewers particularly kids. When Danica and Oyo (his children from former wife actress Dina Bonnevie) were small, my question would always be, " Will the kids learn something out of this?" Thus, all through these years, I use TV and my movies to instill values on the minds of our kids, which hopefully they would also be bringing until they grow old."

This Christmas, come and watch My Little Bossings, opening on December 25th at a theater near you. It promises laughter, a whole lot of fun and moral values to live by.

Purple Plum Fairy thanks Melai Entuna for the bloggers' night invite.

We could see them everywhere—across all Internet social media platforms: from Facebook pages, Twitter, Tumblr to Instagram—nobody could deny the rise of online stores. From toys, shoes, clothing, gadgets, accessories to comfort foods such as delectable sweet cupcakes to whatnot, name it and surely, the Internet has it. Let’s face it, online shopping is so much fun because of its convenience. One doesn’t need to go out of the comforts of one’s home to be able to buy whatever it is that your heart desires. All it takes is a click on a button and voila! You’ll have what you want on your online shopping cart. You can now afford to pay even your bills through E-Commerce. Online shopping isn’t just some kind of a trend though, for e-commerce is here to stay. Where else can you find great deals and find unique trinkets for a steal price? How about discovering that designer bag you’ve been jonesing for a really low price? However, one must be cautious when transacting online. There are a number of fraud or non-legitimate sites around the web.

Most Filipinos are afraid to go shopping online for fear that upon doing so they will be submitting financially sensitive information that could either lead to account hacking or worse unauthorized use of their credit card accounts.
I remember buying my first online purchase two years ago. I was pretty excited on making my first purchase yet at the same time feeling somewhat anxious and hesitant thinking if the said product will really be delivered right on my doorstep. I waited for days before the arrival of my ordered goods. So you could just imagine my relief when it had finally arrived after five days!

With the intention to help bring hope to the lives of Typhoon Yolanda young survivors back to normal. Nickelodeon Asia recently held SHARELebration--an annual Nickelodeon reach out program called The Big Help campaign made by kids for less fortunate kids. Nick Asia encouraged their fans and Nicksters to donate toys, books, educational materials and cash during the Nickelodeon SHARELebration event in lieu of entrance to the said kids activity. Loyal Nicksters trooped to the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall to do their part in making other kids happy this holiday season. The Nickelodeon Sharelebration is open to the public.

There have been loads of fun kids activity throughout the afternoon--Nicksters personally finger and hand painted shirts and eco-bags to be given to less fortunate kids.

Kids were all smiles when they caught their favorite cartoon characters Spongebob Squarepants, Dora the Explorer while action-packed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles team Leonardo, Donatello, Michael Angelo and Rafael wowed the kids with a dance number.

The event were hosted by Nicksters Robby and Lesley. Kids flocked the stage during the games for a chance to win amazing prizes. Sponsors mascots like Kinderino of Kinder Joy Chocolates and the pretty dolpin mascot from Ocean Adventure gamely posed for photo opps to the kids delight.

It was indeed a fun-filled afternoon where we were all able to teach our kids how to share and bring back the blessings that we have received, and Christmastime is the best season to show how we can pay it forward to our less fortunate brothers and sisters. The Big Help program is an annual project of Nickelodeon Asia.
