With The 2013 Polo Cup Carnival
Filipinos love festivities such as town fiestas, mardi gras among many others. We take pride in showing the Filipino's signature hospitality to our foreign guests and visitors each time we invite them to such festivities. And it comes as no surprise that guests are lured not only with the awesome tourist spots that we have in our country but more so the genuinely warm welcome that we Filipinos show, the warmth and friendly atmosphere than they simply couldn't find anywhere else.
Just like the Philippines, Brazil also had a similar kind of festivity called "carnival". The love for music, dance and festivities are also similar among Brazilians and Filipinos. Fila Philippines, a popular sporting brand recently gave Filipino consumers the chance to witness and enjoy the same Brazilian festivity via FILA POLO CUP 2013 Carnival.
The event culminated last February 10, 2013 at The Manila Polo Club at Forbes Park, with the Low Goal game and High Goal game respectively. The festivities was hosted by Brazil-born actor and FILA endorser Fabio Ide, with entertainment provided by Guarana, the Escola de Samba de Manila Dancers, the Maracuja Dancers, and Talentadong Pinoy Hall-of-Famer Astroboy.
Manila’s finest graced the event including FILA endorsers Georgina Wilson, Borgy Manotoc, Tim Yap, and FILA’s first couple, president and CEO of FILA Philippines Cris Albert, and husband and company chairman Butch Albert.
The entertainment was especially prepared and brought the concept to its full mood. Guarana is the country’s leading proponent of traditional and authentic Bossa Nova and Samba. The Escola de Samba de Manila, founded by the same minds behind Guarana, has showcased authentic Brazilian Carnival with their bright, festive colors and infectious, pulsating rhythms. This is as close as we can get to an authentic Mardi Gras festival without leaving the country!
Astroboy demonstrate his fiery display of fierceness and fabulosity. He is Manila’s premiere hoop artist and a Talentadong Pinoy Grand Champion, as well as a Hall of Famer from 2011 to 2012. Astroboy is largely self-taught, learning the art of the hula-hoop in Paris, and honing his talent as part of the New York-based troupe The Gyronauts.
