World Oral Health Day 2022: Cleene CLIO makes Clean Teeth possible for Filipino Families

Oral health is important.

Oral health is fundamental to overall health, well-being and quality of life. A healthy mouth enables people to eat, speak, socialize and save them from embarrassment as well. Pain from untreated dental diseases can also lead to eating, sleeping, speaking and learning problems especially in children and adolescents which may affect a child's social interactions, achievements in school, health in general and the total quality of life. Rampant dental caries in kids may also affect the overall nutrition necessary for the growth in body weight and height.

Diseased, crooked or missing teeth or a misshapen jaw can interfere one's speech. One can't also chew any food properly and may be difficult and painful which can also lead to expensive corrective procedures. Cavities are painful for your teeth where decay has eaten through the enamel and exposed the tooth's root. Hot or cold foods can send a sharp pain that signals something is definitely wrong.

According to the Department of Health, dental caries (tooth decay) and Periodontal Disease (gum disease) are two of the most common oral health diseases that affects most Filipinos. In a study, 87.4% Filipinos are suffering from dental caries while 48.3% has gum disease. If you ask my opinion, it is really very alarming and as parents, We must do our part to prevent this from happening within our family.

Sometimes not even regular brushing works

How can we prevent from having dental caries? Regular visits to the dentist for early diagnosis and preventive care is equally important. Professionally applied fluorides and sealants are also a must. A well-balanced diet is highly recommended, avoid eating sugary foods and good plaque control through regular toothbrushing and flossing.

Practicing good oral health is important to maintaining a healthy mouth, teeth and gums. That is why it is also vital to choose the right products to use. Thanks to modern dental technology, treating tooth decay and preventing them especially in the early stages is a lot easier now than in the past.

Cleene CLIO Ultimax Charcoal with microfine bristles

Personally speaking, I liked using soft bristle toothbrush because I happen to have very sensitive teeth and gums that they instantly bleed if the toothbrush is a bit hard. When choosing my family's toothbrush, there are two things that I'm after: it has to be made from good quality and that it should be made affordable.

Cleene CLIO Dental Floss

My family is very particular when it comes to using toothbrushes and we're partial to using Cleene CLIO Toothbrush. They are top-quality toothbrushes made by PHILUSA Corporation. What is it about Cleene CLIO Toothbrush that we love? Their toothbrush is made from Microfine Soft Bristles that don't hurt our gums. Since the bristles are microfine, they can help penetrate and clean even hard-to-reach areas for better interdental cleaning and gentle toothbrushing.

CLIO Dentaclean

With a wide range of toothbrushes to choose from, they have basic cleaning for all ages: Dentaclean, Dentafresh, Dentamax, and Dentabright.  For their Premium Care line, they have junior toothbrushes made specifically (for kids ages 6 to 12 years old )in mind. The rounded bristles are suitable for thorough cleaning of sensitive gums and teeth. They even have Sens Interdental with cross-angled bristles. For those wanting extra care and protection for your teeth, Cleene CLIO offers its Refreshing Green Tea and Ultimax Charcoal under their Special care line.

March 20 is considered as World Oral Health Day. In celebration of World Oral Health Day, Cleene CLIO Toothbrush has a goal of making toothbrushing an accessible and fun routine among Filipino families. Cleene CLIO is my family's partner for our oral health care.

During the height of the pandemic, oral hygiene is likely to be neglected. We're guilty of not being able to visit our family dentist for the past two years because we were so scared to go out and were advised to stay and work from home. I've recently been asked to go back to working on-ground after working from home for such a long time since the lockdown in March 2020. As part of the hotel I'm working for, we were required to undergo our annual physical check-up where I was privileged to see our company dentist and have my teeth checked. Even if I floss my teeth and toothbrush thrice a day, I think I wasn't able to clean my teeth as much as I want to. I must have neglected my teeth in the past two years.

In celebration of World Oral Health Day, Cleene CLIO toothbrush has collaborated with Manila Water Foundation and the Philippine Dental Association to donate Oral Care Essentials kits to selected communities and families in 12 chosen communities in Metro Manila East Zone and Manila Water regional areas as well as in DInalaonan Elementary School in Pangasinan.

The donation provides its beneficiaries with oral health care needs amidst the pandemic. And as a way of promoting proper hygiene, Cleene CLIO Toothbrush will also give 20% discount on selected Cleene CLIO products exclusively in Mercury Drug Stores nationwide until April 15, 2022. Isn't that good news, right? So head over the nearest Mercury Drug and stock up on Cleene CLIO products for you and your family.

Cleene CLIO is available at Mercury Drug, leading supermarkets, drugstores and other retail stores nationwide as well as on all leading e-commerce websites: Shopee, Lazada, and the PHILUSA Online Store.
