There are basically three things I look forward to during Holy Week: Of course, I look forward to Lenten Recollection as well as other church-related activities in my community and in our parish. However, since it is pandemic, all church activities have been suspended to prevent the spread of Covid-19 virus and its variants. I fully understand that. But not because gatherings are not allowed means I'm not going to do something for my soul this Holy Week. We should just learn to stay at home and reflect on our lives and pray that we can surpass all the challenges brought about by this virus/disease.

Another thing I look forward to is the quality time I get to spend with family. It will be a bit difficult for me to do that now since non-essential travels are currently not allowed. My Mom is in our house in Quezon City while my husband and I along with my nephew Kyle now stays together in a rented house in Bacoor, Cavite. Thank God for technology. My mom and I still get to talk to each other over the phone via video chat or on Facetime. So it feels like we're pretty much together when in reality, we're basically miles apart. Quality time is equally important for me because we cannot stop the sun from setting. Each day is another blessing to let the ones we love know how much we love them. I believe that time is of great essence. While we're here, let's show our loved ones how important they are to us. 

Lastly, It is only during Holy Week or Lenten Season do I get to watch films that do not only touch lives but also touches and nourishes our hearts and souls. We need to feed our hearts with quality films and stories. I'm glad there are organizations like CBN Asia that do that. This year, CBN Asia brings in stories of hope via Tanikala and Habang May Ngayon.

Animated Christian Series Superbook and The Flying House are now being aired on A2Z Channel 11

 

Superbook and The Flying House are back on TV!

If you were born in the '80s then you must have been familiar with the animated Christian TV series Superbook and The Flying House. They were so popular back then that almost every kid born in the '80s would be able to relate well with them. They were the first animated Bible-based series that kids and that kids-at-heart had loved through all these years. So if you missed watching your favorite Superbook and The Flying House characters, I've got good news for you! It's now airing via the rebranded channel A2Z Channel 11 formerly known as ZOE Broadcasting Network. 

A2Z Channel 11also made an agreement with ABS-CBN. You can now watch back-to-back episodes of your beloved animated Bible-based cartoon series, Superbook and The Flying House from Mondays through Fridays from 5:00PM to 6:00PM. This is the best way and fun time to teach your kids some life lessons from the Holy Bible without sounding "too preachy." That makes five days a week of exciting time travel as you and your kids join Chris and Joy on Superbook and Justin, Corky, Angie, and robot Gizmo as they do time-travel back to Jesus'time in the bible. Homeschooling is more enjoyable with Superbook!

 

If you're a parent born in the 80's or early 90's, then you must be familiar with the phenomenal animated series called Superbook. For those who are kids in 2013, CBN Asia has brought them back on the boob tube via GMA-7. What makes Superbook different from the rest of the cartoon series we've had back then was because Superbook is Bible-based animation for kids. It started its first airing in Japan and so far it has been broadcast in over 106 countries and translated into 43 languages which have been viewed by over half a billion people and counting. 

I remember looking forward to late afternoons (after waking up from my siesta) when I was growing up because of Superbook. I would watch that animation series as a wide-eyed youngster, eager to learn while eating my Lola's prepared merienda (snacks). 

Kids nowadays are just as lucky. Although Superbook is no longer airing, you can still get to watch them and join the gang of Chris, Joy and Gizmo. You may even keep watching again and again. CBN Asia has Superbook series on DVD! 

The Ultimate Throwback: Flying House Is Back!

The Flying House is back. Yes, you read that right. Our well-loved children animation series about a flying house which transports us back to the olden times including Jesus' time. And it's now back on TV for the new generation of kids to enjoy including millennials. “We want to bless the children of the Philippines with the Word of God through animation that’s why we are re-airing ‘The Flying House.’ It has blessed millions of people from the ‘80s and there is a new generation now that can also be blessed by it,” said John Tan, Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer of CBN.
