Shopee Philippines and PNP Eastern Police District Sign MOU to Empower Police Families Through E-Commerce

Shopee Philippines and the Philippine National Police-Eastern Police District (PNP-EPD) have formalized a partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at helping the families of police personnel build sustainable livelihoods through e-commerce. The collaboration brings Shopee’s flagship digital skills training initiative, the Tatak Pinoy program, directly to PNP, equipping police families with the tools and knowledge to start and grow online businesses.

The MOU reflects a shared commitment to the financial well-being of the men and women who serve on the front lines of public safety. Under this initiative, which PNP-EPD has named “Love at First Click: Negosyong Online para sa Pamilyang Pulis,” police families will be equipped with the digital skills and practical knowledge they need to establish and grow their online businesses through e-commerce.

"We have always believed that e-commerce can be a powerful equalizer and that belief extends beyond the marketplace," said Jack Ng, Head of Commercial, Shopee Philippines. Through this partnership with PNP Eastern Police District, we want to give the families of our police personnel the same opportunities we are bringing to entrepreneurs across the country: real, practical skills that can help them build businesses and improve their quality of life."

The Shopee Tatak Pinoy MSME Roadshow, which has trained over 700 MSME sellers across 10 cities since 2025, will serve as the foundation of the collaboration. Police families will have access to hands-on training in online store setup, digital marketing, order fulfillment, and customer engagement. This is the same curriculum that has helped entrepreneurs transition from informal businesses to thriving online stores.

"Our partnership with Shopee reflects our belief that supporting our personnel goes beyond the badge. The PNP Eastern Police District has always been committed not only to the safety of our communities, but to the well-being of the men and women who protect them—and the families who stand behind them," said PNP-EPD Police Brigadier General Aden Lagradante. “When we give our personnel's families access to real livelihood opportunities, we are investing in their future and strengthening the foundation of our organization from within."

The partnership underscores Shopee's broader mission to build an inclusive digital economy, one that reaches not just traditional entrepreneurs but communities that stand to benefit most from access to e- commerce tools and training. As the Tatak Pinoy Roadshow continues its nationwide expansion, Shopee remains committed to finding new ways to bring digital opportunities to more Filipinos.

Araneta City nurtures stray cat welfare through “CoMEOWnity”

Araneta City deepens its commitment to kindness and shared responsibility through launching of “CoMEOWnity”, a citywide initiative aimed to protect, care, and uplift the lives of stray cats. Introduced under Araneta City’s Pet Pals program, the campaign recognizes stray cats not as passersby, but as cherished City-zens of the City of Firsts’ vibrant community.

“CoMEOWnity brings together our valued partners, patrons, cat lovers, and everyone who shares a deep compassion for stray cats,” said Marjorie Go, VP for Marketing of Araneta City, Inc. “Through this initiative, we hope to create a city where every stray cat feels safe, respected, and cared for.”

Guided by its vision of creating an inclusive environment, “CoMEOWnity” focuses on everyday acts of care—regular feeding, safe shelter, medical attention, and thoughtfully designed adoption drives—ensuring that stray cats are treated with dignity and compassion.

Done in partnership with Pet Kingdom, CARA Welfare Philippines, City Cats Cubao, and Cats of Araneta City, the program reflects a shared effort to make animal welfare a fundamental part of city living. “CoMEOWnity” is also dedicated to the memory of the late Filipina chef and restaurateur Margarita Forรฉs, whose lifelong affection for cats—especially strays—continues to inspire acts of kindness.

Among the program’s key initiatives is a Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) effort in partnership with CARA Welfare Philippines, ensuring humane and sustainable management of the stray cat population. Rescued cats are housed at the Araneta City cattery, where they receive regular meals, veterinary care, and ongoing attention, supported by sponsored cat food and essential supplies.

Beyond rescue, “CoMEOWnity” opens doors to second chances through its adoption drives, helping match stray cats with loving individuals and families. During its first-ever cat adoption event held on April 12 at Ali Mall, all rescued and neutered cats successfully found new homes, proving how community involvement can transform lives.

Through this initiative, the City of Firsts continues to build an inclusive space that safeguards the health and well-being of stray cats. It also actively engages tenants, employees, residents, and partner organizations in shaping a city that is not only a destination for culture and entertainment, but also a model of humane urban living.

“Through programs like CoMEOWnity, we are in the high hopes that it will encourage greater awareness and shared responsibility toward stray cats,” said Marjorie Go. “Compassion and empathy are at the heart of who we are—and through them, we affirm our responsibility to care for those who cannot care for themselves.”

2026 National Food Fair Generates ₱125M in Sales, Expands Market Opportunities for MSMEs

NFF Special Setting

The 2026 DTI Bagong Pilipinas National Food Fair (NFF) recorded a total of ₱125.6-million in sales, reaffirming its role as a premier platform for strengthening market access and commercial linkages for Filipino food micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Held from April 8 to 12, 2026, at the Megatrade Halls of SM Megamall, the five-day event gathered over 300 exhibitors from across the country. It provided a strategic venue for MSMEs to connect with institutional buyers, retailers, and consumers in a highly targeted, business-driven environment.

Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Ma. Cristina A. Roque underscored that the fair forms part of the government’s broader whole-of-government approach under the Bagong Pilipinas agenda, ensuring that MSMEs are not only supported but equipped to scale sustainably. She emphasized the importance of sustained market access and long-term business partnerships.

DTI Sec. Cristina A. Roque (extreme right) leads the ribbon-cutting ceremony during the official opening of the 2026 DTI-Bagong Pilipinas National Food Fair. Joining her is her Assistant Sec. Nylah Rizza Bautista of the DTI Competitiveness and Innovation Group and Agriculture Sec. Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr.

In her keynote message, DTI Secretary Roque reassured Filipino MSMEs, saying, “Beyond the immediate solutions that we offer, our goal is long-term growth. We want your businesses to be efficient and innovative so that you do not just survive uncertainty, you thrive in it.”

Complementing this, DTI Assistant Secretary Nylah Rizza Bautista highlighted the fair’s thematic focus, stating, “This year, we highlight key drivers shaping a stronger food sector—coconut-based products, Halal-certified goods, and the creativity of former OFWs turned entrepreneurs.”

Meanwhile, Department of Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr. highlighted the critical link between agriculture and enterprise. He noted that strengthening support for farmers and food producers, coupled with improved market access, is essential to building a more competitive and resilient food industry.

Responding to evolving global trends, the 2026 NFF also spotlighted the expanding halal market as a key growth opportunity for Filipino MSMEs. With rising international demand for halal-certified products, the fair emphasized the importance of certification, standards compliance, and continuous product development in unlocking new export markets.

The event further featured emerging entrepreneurs, including overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who have transitioned into MSME ownership, offering products shaped by both global exposure and local innovation.

Through initiatives such as the Business Connect Lounge, the NFF strengthened buyer engagement and facilitated long-term partnerships between MSMEs and institutional buyers, extending business opportunities beyond the duration of the fair.

As part of the government’s broader market access strategy, the National Food Fair continues to evolve as a dynamic platform that prepares, positions, and connects Filipino enterprises for growth in both domestic and international markets.

With its strong sales performance and expanded market linkages, the 2026 NFF reflects the resilience, creativity, and growing competitiveness of Filipino food entrepreneurs.

These Three Food Concepts are Redefining Dining as an Experience

Kariton's

The local food scene has never been more exciting than in the past few years. With new concepts emerging and a constant demand for something fresh, business owners are constantly thinking about how to ensure they’re set for success.

The modern dining experience is holistic, and the most successful food entrepreneurs understand that every detail shapes how a brand is remembered. Today, it’s not just about what’s on the plate. It’s about every touchpoint before and after the meal – from how customers first discover a restaurant online, to how they’re welcomed, how efficiently they’re served.

Yet across today’s food scene, the experience is constantly challenged by a recurring issue: friction and delays in payment. For three food entrepreneurs, solving this has become central to building their businesses.

Designing the full experience with the customer in mind

For one of Manila’s coolest new gelato shops, Kariton, designing the experience begins with putting the customer first.

“The name Kariton comes from the street carts many of us grew up with, so when people walk in, I want them to feel an instant sense of warmth and curiosity. It should feel approachable, not intimidating, but once you taste our gelato, you’ll realize that it’s made with serious technique and high-quality, local ingredients,” Leon Taira, Global Partner of Kariton, explains.

Kariton blends Filipino culture and nostalgia with a fun, Australian-inspired charm to use gelato as a shareable way to introduce local ingredients and culture. But because gelato melts quickly, service speed is a priority. “Very early on, we realized that small details matter a lot. Things like queue flow, signage, temperature control, portioning, and how staff greet you. At the same time, we don’t want to rush the customer, and we want to make sure we have time to tell them our story and the stories in each scoop.”

This challenge of balancing convenience with staying true to their concept is something modern food businesses, including Mariell Chuateco-Tanchip and her team at Taste &Tell, are navigating, especially after expanding from their home business into their first physical store.

“We realized dining is about the entire journey — ambiance, service, speed, and even how customers pay. Even if the food is excellent, a slow or stressful checkout can change the entire experience,” she says. “Generosity is important to us. We never want guests to feel like they’re getting less. We want them to leave full, happy, and excited to come back,” she adds.

Nolita Joe's

This is echoed by Patrick Santos, owner of Nolita Joe’s, whose service philosophy marries the best of New York-style dining – which is fast-paced – without sacrificing quality. For him and his team, it’s about balancing efficiency with what guests expect and deserve.

“It’s not unusual for guests to either rave about or get annoyed at the small things, so everything should matter. Even something as seemingly minor as waiting a bit too long for the bill to be settled or having limited payment options can affect the whole experience,” she points out.

To address this friction, all three businesses have since integrated GCash for Business and tools like the new GCash SoundPay to improve both speed and service flow, especially at checkout. GCash SoundPay is a payment device that enables instant cashless transactions through QR payments with real-time voice confirmation, helping both staff and customers confirm payments instantly, without slowing down service.

“It’s made things a lot more seamless. Less friction, faster turnover, and less stress for the team. It really helps during peak hours. Faster transactions mean more turnover and better customer satisfaction,” he explains.

Embracing new tools as part of the experience

Across all three concepts, one shift is clear in modern dining: technology is an essential part of hospitality. For Leon, removing friction is key to repeat visits. “Before being able to provide cashless payment options, the common issues we would face included not having exact change and delays during peak hours. These small frictions add up and can slow down the entire service flow and ultimately affect the chances for return visits.”

For today’s young restaurateurs, success is no longer just about serving great food. It’s about the experience around it, which requires understanding customer behavior, mastering operations, and designing a seamless experience from start to finish. Throughout their journey, they have found support in solutions like GCash for Business.

How often do you go to the bathroom to pee?

Frequency in peeing is affected by several factors, including age, liquid intake, specific medical conditions, and bladder size.

Its official term is micturition, but to us, it’s simply urinating or peeing, a natural and necessary function of a healthy human body. “Urination helps cleanse the body of toxins, excess sodium and fluid, and metabolic waste,” says Rolando Guillermo O. Saulog, MD, a Urology Doctor at top hospital in the Philippines, Makati Medical Center (MakatiMed).

On average, a person pees between 6 to 7 times a day, but if you are taking more (or less) trips to the bathroom, there’s no real need to worry. “If you go only four times in a 24-hour span, it is fine. And if you go 10 times, that’s okay too.”

According to Dr. Saulog, the number of times you urinate per day depends on the following factors:

Age. “As we grow older, our bladder (which stores urine) does not expand as much, so it fills up faster, making our visits to the bathroom more frequent. Menopause and the decreasing production of the estrogen hormone can also affect bladder function.”

What and how much you drink. “Alcohol and caffeine are forms of diuretics, which prompt the kidneys to release extra fluid from the blood vessels. Consume copious amounts of coffee, tea, beer, or wine, and you can expect to spend a lot of time in the toilet.”

Pregnancy. “Mothers-to-be can chalk up peeing often to hormonal changes (an increase of progesterone relaxes the muscles, including those in the bladder), extra fluid and blood produced by the body, and weakened pelvic floor muscles due to an expanding uterus.”

Specific medical conditions. “If you need to urinate often, only yield small amounts each time, you may have a urinary tract infection (UTI). Diabetes can also cause you to urinate frequently, as it is the body’s way of emptying the bloodstream of excess sugar. Low potassium, too much or too little calcium, an enlarged prostate, congestive heart failure, painful bladder syndrome, and kidney issues can also make you visit the bathroom several times.”

Medicines. “Diuretics in pill form are given to individuals with high blood pressure, heart failure, edema, kidney disease, and liver disease. Certain medicines for diabetes and mental health can also make you pee more than average.”

Bladder size. “A man’s bladder can hold as much as 700 ml of urine, while a woman’s bladder can store about 500 ml.”

On the flip side, MakatiMed says that oliguria or urinating only 1-2 times in 24 hours (that’s peeing less than 400-500 ml a day) could be due to dehydration, blockages in the urinary tract, or infection.

When should you see your doctor? “Definitely when your peeing includes pain or a burning sensation, or when pain is felt in your lower back, pelvis, or genitals,” says Dr. Saulog. “Blood in the urine is also a cause for concern, as is incontinence or difficulty controlling your pee.”

Other signs that a consultation with a health practitioner is in order: urine that is cloudy, dark, and foul- smelling.

Tests help pinpoint the cause of your tendency to pee often or not enough. Results from a urinalysis will give your doctor an idea of the color, appearance, and microscopic contents of your sample. A kidney functioning test, which relies on a blood test and urine sample, can gauge how well your kidneys are working. Imaging tests (x-ray, ultrasound, MRI, CT scan) will reveal if peeing too much or too little comes from a pre-existing or newly discovered medical condition. A uroflowmetry test (available in MakatiMed) is a simple, non-invasive test used to evaluate how the bladder is working, often to detect why a patient has frequent or urge to urinate, a weak or slow urinary stream, difficulty starting urination, or a feeling that the bladder is not empty after urinating.

“Healthy living ensures efficient and natural urination,” reminds Dr. Saulog. “Stay hydrated. Eat fruits and vegetables and foods rich in probiotics; they may help address recurring UTI. Avoid too much caffeine and alcohol. Pee and cleanse using an unscented soap after sexual intercourse to lower your risk of developing UTI. Women can also reduce the risk of UTI by wiping from front to back after peeing.”

“Most important: Do not hold back your pee. Go when you feel like it.”

Starbucks Philippines Invites Everyone to be a Community Champion This Global Month of Good

As part of its annual Global Month of Good celebration, Starbucks Philippines is reinforcing its commitment to the communities it serves – while inviting more Filipinos to take part in their own way.

This year, Starbucks highlights a simple but powerful idea: anyone can be a Community Champion through small, everyday actions that create meaningful change for the environment, the community, and other people.

“Our local initiatives are grounded in the belief that meaningful change starts with strong community connections,” said Jamie Silva, senior manager for Marketing, Digital Customer Experience and Social Impact, Starbucks Philippines. “From education to disaster response initiatives and partner volunteerism, 2025 reflects how collective action can create lasting impact.”

In 2026, Starbucks Philippines is expanding its community impact initiatives through strengthened partnerships, improved access to essentials, and more opportunities for both partners (employees) and customers to take part in meaningful action.

Supporting Communities Where They Need the Most

Through its partnership with Planet Water Foundation and The Starbucks Foundation, Starbucks Philippines provides clean water access and hygiene education to an estimated 42,400 people in various regions around the country. This April, a ninth AquaTower will be installed in Camarines Sur, extending access to safe drinking to around 7,000 more individuals.

Starbucks Philippines also continues its longstanding partnership with HOPE to support education. Each year, Starbucks partners (employees) come together to help build safe and inspiring learning spaces for underserved communities. This year marks the completion of a sixth public school classroom in Sarangani in April, helping provide safe and conducive learning spaces for students in the community.

Alongside its community initiatives, Starbucks Philippines is also strengthening its sustainability efforts within its store operations. Starbucks Philippines has partnered with MPower to supply electricity to around 60 Metro Manila stores under the Retail Aggregation Program. This partnership is expected to result in improved operational efficiency while supporting long-term sustainability goals.

Continuing Efforts Powered by Volunteerism

Starbucks’ commitment to being a Community Champion is also reflected through volunteerism and everyday participation.

Starbucks Community Stores in Abad Santos, Tondo, and Maysilo Circle continue to support education programs in partnership with AHA! Learning Center, Young Focus Foundation, and Mano Amiga Philippines. To date, more than 1,500 learners have benefited from after-school sessions, literacy development activities, and leadership-building programs that help them gain confidence and stay engaged in school.

Addressing food insecurity remains a key focus. Through its FoodShare program, Starbucks has redirected nearly 3 million rescuable food items from close to 300 stores nationwide. In partnership with The Philippine Food Bank Foundation and Grab Philippines, surplus food is distributed to various communities.

Beyond these organized programs, Starbucks encourages customers to take part in simple, everyday actions throughout Global Month of Good. In their own small way, store visits can become part of the impact. Customers can use for-here ware or bring their own tumblers for their coffee orders and enjoy a PHP 10 discount.

Simple actions, when done together, can create a meaningful impact over time. This Global Month of Good, everyone is invited to be a Community Champion. To learn more about the Global Month of Good, visit starbucks.ph/social-impact.

Araneta City, JAAF expand support for Filipino weavers through HIBLA

Araneta City and its corporate social responsibility arm, the J. Amado Araneta Foundation (JAAF), are launching HIBLA: Tradition Woven Forward, a reimagined cultural initiative that expands its annual trade fair into a broader, future‑forward program supporting Filipino weavers and preserving indigenous textile traditions.

from Habi Fiesta 2024 02

“Hibla, meaning ‘fiber’ or ‘strand,’ perfectly encapsulates the essence of what we aim to achieve,” said Diane Romero, Executive Director of JAAF. “Each thread tells a story—of our history, our communities, and our future.”

HIBLA builds on the legacy of Habi Fiesta!, which was held in 2024 and 2025 as a stand‑alone trade fair at Gateway Mall 1, Araneta City. For 2026, Araneta City and JAAF are expanding the initiative into a program that supports weavers beyond the marketplace.

The expanded program introduces capacity‑building opportunities, creative collaborations, and recognition platforms designed to help artisans sustain and grow their practice in a modern economy. This marks a strategic shift toward a holistic platform that strengthens artisan communities while bringing Philippine weaving to contemporary audiences.

from Habi Fiesta 2025 03

“HIBLA honors a legacy rooted in our founder, J. Amado Araneta, through the spirit of ‘Tradition Woven Forward,’” Romero said. “We are not only preserving heritage, but actively propelling it into modern relevance by opening market access, bringing indigenous textiles to the mainstream, and inspiring new applications that ensure their lasting impact.”

The centerpiece of HIBLA is the three‑day Weavers’ Fair, set from May 15 to 17, 2026, at the Quantum Skyview, Gateway Mall 2. Open to the public, the fair will showcase a diverse range of Filipino handwoven textiles and products directly from partner weaver communities.

Proceeds from the Weavers’ Fair will benefit the Gateway Gallery, the art museum of Araneta City, helping support its 2027 public programs and reinforcing the City’s commitment to accessible cultural spaces.

Beyond the retail fair, HIBLA also includes:
 Capacity‑building sessions and workshops offering training in branding and digital
storytelling
 HIBLA limited‑edition merchandise, translating traditional patterns into modern,
functional designs
 The HIBLA Awards, recognizing excellence in craftsmanship, storytelling, and visual
presentation

“Through HIBLA, we invite Filipinos to engage with Philippine textiles beyond simply shopping,” Romero said. “It is an invitation to be part of a living legacy—one that continues to evolve while remaining rooted in tradition.”

3 Lessons from Women Who Successfully Built Careers in Freelancing

Mia and Dana share their freelancing journey and career growth at the She Talks Asia Summit 2026.

Earning through freelance work has never been more accessible. With a stable internet connection and numerous job platforms, opportunities can come from anywhere – and for many Filipino women, they do. A 2020 study by the Philippine Institute for Development Studies (PIDS) showed that an increasing number of women are engaging in online work because it lets them earn while balancing home responsibilities.

But access doesn’t always mean ease. Freelancers face inconsistent income, unpredictable clients, and little guidance on how to navigate it all. For longtime freelancers Mia Juan and Dana Novales, building a career online has meant learning these lessons in real time. With more women entering the freelancing field, they share three lessons they’ve learned:

1. Build real relationships, not just transactions.

Freelancing can make work feel transactional. You get assigned a task, submit the work, get paid, and then move on. But the most successful freelancers don’t treat work that way. In such an unpredictable field, being remembered matters.

According to Dana, “Real relationships are built on service, not strategy.” Every “Well done!” or “Good work!” can open doors to new opportunities, so don’t waste them. Instead, take an extra step to establish a real relationship with your clients: check in, understand what they need, and find ways to make the process easy for them.

2. Set up systems that work for you.

Handling different clients with different ways of working can get overwhelming fast. For Mia, having systems for your workflow simply makes this easier and helps manage client expectations.

A look into Mia’s workstation, where she manages her daily freelance work and tasks

3. Find solutions that work for your peace of mind.

Some challenges only appear once you’re in the midst of them, and for many freelancers, realizing that foreign payments come with fees, delays, and uncertainty is when freelancing starts to feel stressful.

A closer look at Dana’s work routine, which includes various creative works for her clients

“Earning in USD sounds exciting–until fees, forex, and delays eat into your income,” Dana points out. She shares that this is something she wishes she had known earlier in her freelancing career. “That’s why there is importance in having the right structures in place, especially if you’re a mom who has to think of managing your home, paying your bills, among many other responsibilities.”

That’s why Mia and Dana now use the new GCash Virtual US Account, a feature within the GCash app that lets freelancers receive USD payments from US clients more directly without the usual surcharges. After creating an account, you get your own ACH and Wire Routing Number, which you can give to your clients for direct deposits of your pay.

You can also choose to convert your USD to PHP when you want, depending on live forex rates, which you can see on the platform – giving you control over how much you actually receive. Once it’s in your wallet, you can use it to send money, pay bills, or add to your savings.

Creating a GCash Virtual US Account is easy in just a few steps.

1. Open the GCash app. Tap US Accounts in the Explore the App section

2. Tap Continue and verify your information

3. Complete your account creation

Beyond Redness Relief: Cetaphil Encourages Proactive Sensitive Skin Protection With Soothing & Comforting Line

For many people, skincare only becomes a priority when the skin starts to react. Redness appears. Irritation flares up. The skin barrier isn’t functioning as it should. By then, routines shift into problem-solving mode: focused on calming symptoms rather than preventing them.
Cetaphil, the #1 dermatologist-recommended brand for sensitive skin, wants to change this behavior.
Daily exposure to pollution, UV radiation, fluctuating temperatures, and harsh skincare ingredients can gradually compromise the skin’s protective barrier. At the same time, internal and lifestyle influences such as stress, lack of sleep, diet, and over-exfoliating further can damage the skin. As these stressors accumulate, the skin becomes more reactive, more sensitive, and more prone to flare-ups.
As the authority on sensitive skin, Cetaphil believes that proactive care, rather than reactive, is key to maintaining a strong, calm skin barrier long before visible symptoms appear. The first crucial step is awareness: understanding what triggers your skin and learning how to avoid or manage those stressors.

CALM SKIN UNDER PRESSURE
This belief is at the heart of the Cetaphil Soothing and Comforting Line, a range specifically developed to support sensitive skin exposed to daily triggers. Designed with gentle, dermatologist-tested formulations, the line helps soothe irritation, strengthen the skin barrier, and protect against recurring sensitivity: supporting long-term skin comfort rather than short-term relief.
At the launch event hosted by Cetaphil Brand Ambassador Bianca Gonzalez, on hand was Dr. Paola Alipit, who reinforced the triggers behind skin redness: “There are a lot of reasons behind skin redness, for example psychologic: every time you have anxiety or stress, you notice a flushed look. Also it can be environmental: UV exposure, pollution, extreme weather changes.”

Dr. Alipit also mentioned certain skincare ingredients can play a part: harsh acids can contribute to a weakening of the skin barrier. To be proactive about your skin choices, she recommended Cica: “Cica is centella asiatica, a common ingredient that is anti-inflammatory. It addresses cells and enzymes in the skin that reduce inflammation. Asides from that, it also restores the skin barrier, helping moisturize it.”
She also cautioned that any sort of redness in the skin signals cellular inflammation. “If you have cellular inflammation, chronic inflammation occurs later on, which can lead to premature aging.”
By reinforcing the skin barrier and minimizing exposure to known triggers, the Cetaphil Soothing & Comfort Line helps prevent the cycle of repeated irritation that can lead to lasting sensitivity, discomfort and inflammation:
● The Cetaphil Cica Soothing & Comforting Balancing Toner is a toner that is specially formulated for sensitive and redness-prone skin. Infused with centella asiatica (CICA) extract, allantoin, and hyaluronic acid, it helps to rebalance, hydrate, and soothe the skin while reinforcing its natural barrier.
● The Cetaphil Cica Soothing & Comforting Serum is an ultra-lightweight serum for sensitive and redness-prone skin. Powered by the Power Trio Blend of Centella Asiatica (CICA) extract, Pentavitin and Allantoin, it delivers deep hydration while helping to restore the skin’s moisture barrier for long-lasting protection and visibly reduce redness. This is the most powerful combination available in the skincare market.
● The Cetaphil Cica Soothing & Comforting Balancing Face Cream is a lightweight, dermatologist-tested cream designed to instantly hydrate and soothe sensitive skin. Powered by a blend of Centella Asiatica (CICA) extract, Allantoin, and Ceramides, it helps visibly reduce redness, improve skin texture, restore the skin’s protective barrier, and complete skin recovery in just 3 days
Cetaphil’s message is clear: skincare should not start when redness appears. It should start with understanding your skin and being proactive with use of the Cetaphil Soothing & Comforting line.
Fellow brand ambassador Jessica Wilson concurs. At the event, she said it’s important to manage your skin and care for it, even if you can see there are no obvious problems. “You never want your skin care to be a band-aid solution, because if you start caring for your skin when the problems show, when it starts to sting, when it feels, then it’s too late. Don’t start when it’s an emergency.”
Sharing their testimonies on the product was Bea Escudero and Mika Reins. Both women shared the impact of their work lives on their skin: Bea is a courtside reporter, which means under any given situation, she is often under bright camera lights, or covering sports from an outdoor pitch. Mika, meanwhile, is often dealing with quick and often make-up changes. Both deal with skin redness, which has been alleviated by the Soothing and Comforting line.

Mika said that as a model, she normally gets flushed, irritated skin. What she really appreciates with her Soothing and Comforting routine is that the products are fragrance free. “I appreciate that the products are fragrance free, and non-irritating for me. And they really work under my makeup, they’re not piling on my skin under layers of foundation and concealer.”
